Where to charge when you want to get away from it all

Fancy visiting some places a little further-afield? Here’s our list of top spots in the beautiful British countryside where there’s charging on hand. So, you can head out into some of the most scenic spots in the UK with the reassurance of knowing there’s a bp pulse charger nearby.

1. South Downs National Park – English idyll

Home to an extensive range of rolling chalk hills that stretch from Winchester in Hampshire to Eastbourne in East Sussex. The South Downs is famous for its iconic white cliffs, ancient woodlands, and open grasslands. The area has a rich history, with prehistoric sites like Cissbury Ring and Devil’s Dyke. The South Downs Way, a 100-mile National Trail, offers stunning views across the countryside.

2. Blackdown hills – Hidden rural gem

With its quiet lanes, walking trails, and panoramic views, the Blackdown Hills is a haven for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

3. North York Moors National Park – Breathtaking scenery

The North York Moors is a vast upland area in North Yorkshire, it’s renowned for large expanses of heather moorland alongside ancient woodlands, dales and a dramatic coastline. The park is rich in history with prehistoric burial mounds, medieval abbeys like Rievaulx, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The Cleveland Way National Trail runs through the park, offering breathtaking views.

4. Northumberland National Park – Stargazers delight

Northumberland National Park is England’s northernmost national park with wild, unspoiled landscapes from Hadrian’s Wall to the Scottish border. It is known for its rolling hills, remote moorlands, deep river valleys, and the rugged Cheviot Hills. Rich in history, the park features Roman forts, medieval castles, and ancient hillforts. It is also home to Europe’s largest Dark Sky Park, offering some of the best stargazing in the UK. With its vast open spaces, diverse wildlife, and miles of walking trails, Northumberland National Park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts seeking peace and solitude.

5. Loch ness and Cairngorms – Haggis spotting

To the South of Inverness is Loch Ness, perhaps Scotland’s most famous and mysterious lakes. Extending about 37 km (23 miles) holds more water than all the lakes in England and Wales combined. Best known for the legendary Loch Ness Monster (Nessie), the loch is surrounded by rolling hills, ancient castles like Urquhart Castle, and dense forests.

To the East you’ll find the Cairngorms National Park, the largest national park in the UK, it features rugged peaks, ancient Caledonian forests, vast moorlands, and fast-flowing rivers. The park supports diverse wildlife, including golden eagles and is a hub for outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and mountain biking. The Cairngorms is also rich in cultural heritage, with traditional Highland villages, whisky distilleries, and historic sites.

6. The Lizard – Soaking up the sun
