Know your charging options around the tournament to avoid traffic
Balls please. We’re approaching late June, which means Wimbledon is here. It’s time for glorious groundstrokes. It’s time for tense tie breaks. It’s time for the UK to go tennis crazy. If you’re heading to the tournament in an EV, we want to make sure you know where to charge. Read on for all the charging point information you need to ace your arrival and ensure you’re on court for the start of play.
Why we’ve got a lot of love
Wimbledon is one of four Grand Slam tournaments, but it’s got a unique character all its own. There’s more history and tradition than you can shake a racket head at. It started way back in 1877 when the players wore white trousers (and the rackets weighed a ton). The players still wear all white today; they still play on grass, and the rallies are still roared on by royalty. And, of course, there’s strawberries and cream – the glorious go-to treat of the tournament.
Avoid the crowds
bp pulse has many chargers around the tournament, which we’ve detailed below. (We’ve included locations for people north and south of the river to keep everyone winning.)
The roads around the grounds will get busy at peak times, so it’s good to know where chargers are available in and around the area. It’s worth planning ahead so you can avoid delays and react to traffic (as quickly as a pro playing a volley at the net). Download the bp pulse app to search for EV chargers near you when you’re on the road. Plus, check charging speeds and availability.
