For most, electrification is a new process. To understand it better, here are the seven phases of fleet electrification from start to finish

1. Assessment

Your selected suppliers (utility, charging, infrastructure, hired consultants, etc) visit your site for a physical inspection. Your team will also review fleet size and vehicles, usage patterns, and operational requirements to understand the project scope.

2. Design

Your team will then design your charging infrastructure plan, based on your electric fleet and operational needs. You'll work with your Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) provider or consultant to design and finalize engineering drawings.

3. Procurement

In the next phase, you'll finalise your charging infrastructure, charger selection, and begin to place orders.

4. Permitting

Identify any stakeholders and authorities having jurisdiction over your facility - typically your utility provider and potentially local governments. Work with your EPC provider or consultant to submit engineering drawings and apply for permits.

5. Construction

Once permits have been approved, you can begin project construction and install all of your charging infrastructure.

6. Operation

As your electric fleet runs, you can optimise charging with charge management software to ensure you're charging up with low cost energy. You might need to make adjustments to charging infrastructure or charging sessions based on how your fleet runs.

7. Maintenance

It's important to maintain your charging infrastructure. Run equipment health reports regularly and schedule maintenance per your warranties.
