Monthly grant compliance reporting
Wilsbach set out to electrify their fleet and power their electric trucks with a roof-mounted solar array to minimize carbon emissions. The distribution company also applied for and won two Pennsylvania grant programs—one program for zero tailpipe emissions vehicles and the other for scrapping diesel emissions vehicles.
Looking for an expert in fleet electrification, Wilsbach connected with bp pulse to discuss project goals and begin site designs. After analyzing Wilsbach’s electrification goals and current fleet operations, bp pulse consulted on the right charging infrastructure to suit their needs now, and into the future
Right-sized charging equipment
bp pulse considered a variety of factors to determine the number and speed of charging that would be right for Wilsbach. Having procured seven Volvo VNR electric trucks, the trucks are able to receive up to 250kW of power during a charging session.
Taking into account the maximum charging speed for the electric trucks, and the operations and vehicle schedules, bp pulse equipped Wilsbach with four Alpitronic HYC 400 chargers, each equipped to deliver up to 200kW, while offering Wilsbach the opportunity to upgrade the equipment for faster speeds in the future.

In addition to the Omega-managed chargers, bp pulse also provided the Advanced Site Controller. This tool allows bp pulse to monitor Wilsbach’s facility load, so as the site expands operations, Wilsbach can stay within maximum electricity load limits to help avoid utility upgrades.

Electric trucks hit the road
The bp pulse Alpitronic chargers are configured with Omega charge management software, allowing Wilsbach to monitor charger uptime, review vehicle readiness, and prioritize charging during lower cost electricity times. Wilsbach can also download monthly reports from Omega to meet ongoing grant reporting requirements, a critical feature for this fleet. Going live in spring 2025, Wilsbach has seven electric trucks powered by roof-mounted solar and high-quality Alpitronic chargers with uptime to keep their fleet moving. From April 2025 through November 2025, the average charger uptime across Wilsbach’s four chargers was 99.5%.
